Ardrishaig - the village
Ardrishaig is situated on the south side of Loch Gilp at the entrance of the Crinan Canal. The Ardrishaig Community Council is an elected body charged with ascertaining the views of the Community and representing these views to Argyll & Bute Council and other public bodies so as to maintain and improve the village environment. The Council normally meets on the first Tuesday of the month in the Public Hall, Ardrishaig, at 7:30 p.m. Meetings are open to all members of the Community; come to our meetings with your issues and talk directly with your Community Councillors.
What's happening about regeneration in Ardrishaig?
Do you remember the community workshops and Place Making event held back in 2007 & 2009 all to do with planning the future and regeneration of Ardrishaig? With revenue now coming in from the Allt Dearg Community Windfarm, there is now an opportunity to push forward. But we need your help. Community Councillors and the Community Trust Directors invite members of the community to come up with ideas which will make Ardrishaig an interesting and exciting place to live and work in. We will be hosting another workshop soon to collect your ideas.
In support of regeneration, the Community Council set up three working groups, each with its own Terms of Reference(ToRs):
-----Bayview Play ParkToRs
-----King Geoge's Field ImprovementToRs
Each of these groups is made up of volunteers, a mix of community councillors and members of the community.
